چکیده

This paper presents three topologies of active 3 Phase Power Factor Correction Circuits which satisfy the following basic requirements: (a) near unity Power Factor, (b) Input current harmonics of below 5% THD and 3% SHD, and (c) Isolated DC output from the input utility. The need to satisfy the first 2 requirements is mandatory for compliance to MIL-STD-1399 shipboard power*. The last requirement stems from the application needs. Impinging on the choice of most suitable topology to a given application is considerations of volume, weight and EMC performance. The paper is confined in focus to 3-5kW overall output power. Results presented herein are based mostly on testing of actual hardware.

Comparative Power Quality Analysis of Different DSTATCOM Topologies

This paper presents the three topologies of three-phase four-wire DSTATCOM for reduction of harmonics, reactive power compensation, increasing power factor, which occur due to a nonlinear load, environment problem and polluted grid. The performances of the above topologies have been compared for the magnitude of source current, power factor improvement, DC-link voltage regulation, and total har...

NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF THE CASIMIR EFFECT DUE TO A SCALAR FIELD

In this paper, we study the Casimir effect of a scalar field with Dirichlet boundary condition in some certain topologies. By numerical analysis we show that Casimir energy is a shape-dependent quantity. We also obtain the phase transition in different topologies in which the Casimir force changes from attractive to repulsive or vice versa.  eararqr

Assessment of the Existing Models to Estimate the Fatigue Life under both Multiaxial in Phase and 90° Out of Phase Loading Conditions

Engineers have a range of methods to estimate the fatigue life under multiaxial conditions. Each of these predictive methods is generally subjected to restrictions, related to the inherent simplified assumptions. The objective of this paper is to evaluate the validity of commonly used multiaxial fatigue criteria for different multiaxial loading conditions. The best criterion is identified throu...

Application of the Min-Projection and the Model Predictive Strategies for Current Control of Three-Phase Grid-Connected Converters: a Comparative Study

This paper provides a detailed comparative study concerning the performance of min-projection strategy (MPS) and model predictive control (MPC) systems to control the three-phase grid connected converters. To do so, first, the converter is modeled as a switched linear system. Then, the feasibility of the MPS technique is investigated and its stability criterion is derived as a lower limit on th...

Design, Analysis and Simulation of a Linear Phase Distributed Amplifier

In this paper a new method for the design of a linear phase distributed amplifier in 180nm CMOS technology is presented. The method is based on analogy between transversal filters and distributed amplifiers topologies. In the proposed method the linearity of the phase at frequency range of 0-50 GHz is obtained by using proper weighting factors for each gain stage in cascaded amplifier topology....
